Hello lovely people,
We hope you're enjoying these blooming days and that spring is treating you kindly.
As we mentioned in one of our recent newsletters, we're deep into developing our winter piece and thought we’d pop in to share a little behind the scenes — because, you know, sharing is caring.
Since the beginning (and maybe you've heard us say this once or twice!), our goal at Carnelia has been to create pieces that are beautiful, body-conscious, and environmentally thoughtful.
That’s why we’re committed to offering a range of styles - to suit different bodies, preferences, and seasons. It’s not easy, but it’s the kind of challenge we love.
Our first design - the spring set - is all about color, lace, and floral details. It’s not a quiet piece, but neither is spring as a season.
We absolutely love it, but we also know not everyone wants something that bright. That’s where the winter piece comes in.
We imagined the winter piece as something quiet. Something cozy. A piece that gives warmth, softness, and support — the kind of bra you reach for instinctively on cold mornings. The one you trust under your big jumper. The one you forget you’re even wearing.
From these ideas, Naja built a moodboard, drawing from winter textures, deep tones, and that comforting feeling of being curled up in an armchair, wrapped in something warm, while snow falls outside.
Thoughts from Naja, our designer:
When I think of winter, I imagine soft, thick, flowy fabrics — something that feels gentle on the skin. That’s why I reached for a ribbed cotton jersey: warm, stretchy, and breathable.
My mind then went to the color black, both because black underwear is a staple for me, and because it’s my go-to color for winter, in both under- and outerwear.
Comfort, for me, is synonymous with wireless. I’m not personally a big fan of wired bras, even though I have a large chest and need lots of support. The goal is to create a soft, comfortable, wireless piece that can support the weight of a heavier chest, while also providing coverage for those who seek it.
Technically, it’ll have wide straps, a V neckline, and a thick underband for extra hold. It’s not meant to be flashy or showy, but to disappear under your clothes and feel like a second skin.

We’re still in the development stage, adjusting fit and fabrics, but we’re so excited about where this is going. This piece is all about ease, function, and warmth: a quiet companion for colder days.
Thanks for following along on this journey with us.
We can’t wait to show you more soon. 💌
All the love,
The Carnelia Girls
